One of Hilton Head Islands largest and most age diverse residential neighborhoods is Hilton Head Plantation. Spread over 4,000 acres between the Intercoastal Waterway and Port Royal Sound, it is the home to the Country Club of Hilton Heads semi-private 18 hole golf course designed by Rees Jones. There are three other golf courses within Hilton Head Plantation: the award winning Oyster Reef Golf Club, Dolphin Head Golf Course, and the private Bear Creek Golf Course.

In addition the plantation provides access to two mile of beach, a community recreation center, swimming pools, tennis courts, The Seabrook Farms for gardening, Skull Creek Marina, and the Old Fort Pub restaurant.

Residents enjoy leisure trails with miles of biking and jogging trails, plus two conservancies. Also, within the plantation is the Cypress Retirement Community.
