Andy Twisdale has been an area resident since 1971 and was a graduate of the inaugural Leadership Hilton Head's class of 1986. He was selected 1998 Realtor of the Year and elected President of Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors in both 2000 and 2006. Andy has received numerous Realtor and Vocational awards and was recognized as an Outstanding National School Volunteer.
Andy believes in giving back. As a result, his community involvement includes being a member of the Second Helpings Board, the American Cancer Relay for Life Committee, Co-Chair and then Chair of the United Way Hilton Head Campaign, served on the Board of Directors of the Beaufort County United Way for 4 years, and was a United Way of The Lowcountry volunteer for 12 consecutive years.
Andy has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Hilton Head Hospitality Association for 27 years, and has served on the Area Hospitality Association's Winefest Steering Committee for 2008-2009. Andy has had the pleasure of serving on the Leadership Hilton Head/Bluffton Board of Regents from 2003 to 2007 and has been a member of the Leadership Hilton Head Alumni Association from 2000-2010.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Hilton Head Area Association of REALTORS from 1995-2009 and is currently serving on the Hilton Head Island Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors where he Chairs the Chamber's Business Education Partnership Committee. Andy is married to Gail Twisdale, a Literacy Specialist at Hilton Head International Baccalaureate Elementary School, 2001 Teacher of the Year and Sue West Teacher of the Year award recipient. She is currently the second and third grade Literacy teacher at HHIIBE.
